<p>This study attempts to investigate the transaction costs associated with litigation in trial and appellate courts of High Courts in Pakistan, and to understand the broader consequences of these costs on domestic lives of people in terms of their spending decisions on household affairs. Additionally, it sought to propose a pragmatic policy framework to minimize these transaction costs and improve the litigation culture to support economic activities of common person. The study suggested the need of re-evaluating the evidence-collection procedure, streamlining appeal mechanisms, and introducing alternative dispute resolution methods as cost-effective alternatives to traditional litigation.</p>
