Practices of Project Procurement and its Effect on the Performance of Projects in Amhara Region Public University Construction Projects
摘要
In many developing countries, including Ethiopia, government-led construction projects play a crucial role in fostering national development through accountability, transparency, and efficient resource utilization. This study investigates the impact of project procurement practices on the performance of construction projects in Amhara region public universities. Through purposive sampling, 246 respondents from 52 projects were selected. Analysis involved descriptive statistics like mean and standard deviation, alongside inferential statistics such as regression and Pearson’s correlation analysis. Findings revealed significant positive influences of procurement planning, contract management, communication, tendering, and monitoring on project performance. The study recommends involving competent legal and procurement experts, along with establishing public university procurement associations, to enhance procurement practices and project outcomes.
