<p>Cell death pathways are critical components of the pathomechanisms in a variety of human diseases including cancers, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders. Having the ability to specifically target the molecular mechanisms underlying cell death pathways could contribute to the development of the novel therapeutic approaches. In that regard, the use of plant flavonoids in the modulation of cell death-related diseases has become a remarkably growing research interest. The vast majority of notable advances in the ability of flavonoids to modulate non-apoptotic regulated cell death (RCD) pathways, however, have been reported in in vitro studies. Thus, despite the fact that flavonoids seem to be attractive candidates to modulate non-apoptotic regulated cell death pathways, more extensive research is needed to understand their impact on cell death in vivo, particularly with regard to the crosstalk mechanisms between the different RCDs. In this review, we discuss the various types of death pathways that are clearly modulated by different flavonoids and what is known if any about their mechanisms of action. The death pathways discussed in this comprehensive review include paraptosis, methuosis, parthanatos, oxeiptosis, lysosome-dependent cell death, immunogenic cell death, autophagy-dependent cell death, pyroptosis, ferroptosis, NETosis, and cuproptosis.</p>
