<p>A method using UV spectrophotometry for the quantitative determination of a new biologically active compound with antihypoxic activity, 2-ethyl-6-methylpyridinol-3-yl thiooctanoate, was developed. The method was validated for specificity, linearity, analytical detection range, accuracy, and precision. It was found to meet the requirements for pharmaceutical analysis methods.</p>
