<p>The composition and technology of indapamide 1.5 mg extended release mini-tablets were developed as components of a polypill for the treatment of arterial hypertension. Extended release of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) was ensured by using a combined matrix-forming agent [hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) and sodium carboxymethylcellulose (Na-CMC)]. Selection of the viscosity and concentration of the matrix-forming agent made it possible to obtain a stable hydrogel layer that ensured linear release of indapamide from the mini-tablets throughout a day.</p>
