<p>Four compounds, 20-hydroxyecdysone and three polyacetylenes (polyines), were isolated and identified from rhizomes with roots of <i>Rhaponticum carthamoides</i> (Willd.) Iljin. A significant antiplatelet effect unrelated to the influence on the cyclic nucleotide system was found for one of the polyines, which made it possible to consider it as a potential pharmacological agent for the prevention of thrombosis.</p>
