<p>The analgesic activity of nine new compounds of the ethyl 4-(6-aryl-5-benzoyl-4-hydroxy-2-thioxohexahydropyrimidine-4-carboxamido)benzoate series was studied according to the acetic-acid writhing method. Six compounds with analgesic activity exceeding the effect of sodium metamizole were identified. The number of acetic-acid-induced writhes decreased by 77 – 94% against the background of their action in experimental animals. It has been established that this class of compounds is promising for further searching for biologically active compounds with analgesic activity.</p>
