摘要

This study examines the relationship between individuals’ perceptions of their own religiosity and religious coping, life satisfaction, and depression in patients using hospital emergency services. Whether there is a relationship between these variables as well as the direction and the depth of the relationships were examined. The study’s participants were 78 males (54.2%) and 66 females (45.8%) who were admitted to a hospital in the Izmir province of Türkiye. The measurement tools were a personal information form, the Life Satisfaction Scale, and the Beck Depression Inventory. The results of the data analyses showed that the level of life satisfaction was significantly correlated with both the level of depression and the level of religiosity, but there was no significant correlation between the level of religiosity and the level of depression. Although the level of religious coping was related to the level of religiosity, the relationship between religious coping and life satisfaction and depression has not been determined.
