Evaluation of optical, photo-induced superhydrophilicity and anti-fogging properties of hollow silica-titanium dioxide nanocomposite thin film
摘要
In this study, a hollow silica-titanium dioxide composite thin film was deposited on a glass substrate by the sol–gel method. The structural, optical and morphological properties of the thin films were examined using X Grazing Incidence X-ray Diffraction (GIXRD), UV–vis spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) methods. The water contact angle on the film during ultraviolet light irradiation and storage in a dark place was investigated by a water contact angle analyzer. To investigate the self-cleaning properties, photocatalytic activity of the samples was studied under ultraviolet light radiation. Also, the antifogging properties of the samples were evaluated. The results show the formation of anatase crystal structure and silica amorphous structure in the hollow silica- dioxide titanium nanocomposite thin film. light transmission increased from 90 to 95% in the coated glass at the average wavelength of visible light compared to uncoated glass. In addition, the water contact angle on the uncoated glass has decresed from 63° to 3° on the hollow silica-dioxide titanium nanocomposite thin film. The hollow silica-dioxide titanium nanocomposite thin film shows anti-fogging properties unlike uncoated glass. The hollow silica-dioxide titanium nanocomposite thin film has self-cleaning properties due to photocatalytic activity and super-hydrophilic properties relative to uncoated glass.
