Impact of device design parameters on quantum efficiency of solar cell and revelation of recombination mechanism
摘要
Quantum efficiency measures the carriers generated for incident photons, elucidating valuable insight into carrier collection process and recombination dynamics. In a theoretical model of a high-efficiency thin-film solar cell resembling a real-world device, we examined design parameters to assess their influence on external quantum efficiency (EQE) characteristics. Using 1D numerical simulation, the design parameters were varied separately at a time, to simulate EQE plots and to assign EQE feature with their generating causes. This analysis helps to diagnose certain imperfections in the device by observing spectral shape of EQE plots.
