Multi-attractor coexistence and switching in a smooth and discontinuous oscillator under quasiperiodic excitation

As the main components of vibration isolator and energy harvesters, it is essential to study the dynamics of the smooth and discontinuous oscillator. In this work, the coexistence phenomenon of quasiperiodic attractor, chaotic attractor and strange nonchaotic attractor of the system under quasiperiodic excitation is investigated. Moreover, the intermittent control is employed to switch between different steady states. The control method does not modify the underlying dynamics of the system. When the orbit meets specific constraint conditions, the control action will be applied intermittently in the time domain. The stability and effectiveness of this control method are also verified.
