<p>The article analyses the possibility of mesoregional comparative literature, focusing on East-Central Europe, and challenges the common approach in literary studies, which frequently remains at the level of analyses of a narrow and popular canon of authors and texts from the East-Central European region, ignoring the deeper connections between the literatures of individual countries in the region. The article presents the characteristic features of previous conceptualizations of the concept of (East-)Central Europe and their field-specific orientation. The article goes on to identify previous attempts at mesoregionalisation within literary studies, with a view to providing a basis for further research. The author proposes a spatially oriented approach based on the concept of nodes, which allows for an analysis of the dynamics of change and reciprocal influences in the literatures of East-Central Europe. The literary mesoregion of East-Central Europe is understood as a dynamic structure constantly evolving and reinterpreting itself.</p>
