Comparative Analysis of Eye Movement Patterns in Patients with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Other Mental Disorders: An Analytical Review of the Literature
摘要
This scientific review analyzes global studies covering various nosological groups, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), personality disorders, and schizophrenia, with the aim of identifying similarities and differences in oculomotor biomarkers of mental disorders. The analysis revealed features of oculomotor responses which were common to all the disorders considered and were associated with impaired inhibitory control of attention processes and amygdalar hyperactivity, which is most marked in PTSD and GAD, as well as unique eye movement patterns for each nosology.
