摘要

Chronic insomnia (CI) is one of the most common disorders among the population. CI can significantly reduce a person’s quality of life, affecting their emotional status and performance. Currently, the most effective method for treating CI consists of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), though its use is often limited because there are too few trained specialists and the overall cost of treatment is high. Because of these difficulties, the issue of developing new protocols for the treatment of CI remains relevant. One promising approach consists of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive method of influencing the brain. This article discusses the mechanisms of action of TMS and provides an overview of the accumulated data on the efficacy of TMS in CI.
