摘要

This article considers energy exchange in the sleep–waking cycle of cells not only in the brain, but also in other tissues of the body. Results from experiments on tissue energy supply in sleep models performed on animals are generalized, along with data from polysomnography and mass spectrometry of air exhaled by subjects during the night. This integrated approach allowed us to clarify the mechanisms of sleep, to come closer to understanding its disorders in humans, and to outline approaches to effective pharmacotherapy.
