<p>Extended Reality (XR) is transforming education, offering unparalleled prospects for enhancing teaching and learning processes. This study aims to illuminate the current trends in Extended Reality (XR) within education by utilising a bibliometric analysis approach. A comprehensive examination was conducted on XR-related academic works sourced from the Scopus database, covering the period from 2019 to 2024. Focusing on the keywords"Extended Reality in Education"and"Extended Reality in Teaching and Learning", a total of 1,448 publications were selected for detailed analysis. Various analytical tools were employed, including biblioMagika® for frequency analysis, OpenRefine to clean and harmonise the authors'keywords data, and VOSviewer for data visualisation. The study utilised bibliometric indicators to present data on language usage, subject areas, annual research trends, leading countries, prominent institutions, active publication venues, citation patterns, authorship, and keyword trends. Findings indicate significant growth in XR-related educational literature from 2019 to 2024, with the United States leading in contributions, followed closely by the United Kingdom. The results revealed a dynamic interplay between XR and education, emphasising the potential of adaptive technologies and challenges, such as data privacy and the human element. It advocates for a balanced approach, integrating XR with core educational values.</p>
