Draft genome sequence of an Acinetobacter baumannii strain belonging to CC79 isolated from a reference hospital in Brazil
摘要
Since Acinetobacter baumannii became a multidrug-resistant bacterium, it poses a significant threat to the healthcare settings, highlighting the importance of investigating its genomic aspects.
ObjectiveTo report the draft, contig-level genome sequence of an Acinetobacter baumannii isolate (strain AB025).
Materials and MethodsGenome sequencing was performed for strain AB025, isolated from a blood sample of a critically ill patient from a reference hospital in Brazil.
Results and DiscussionThis strain is assigned to the uncommon sequence type (ST) 1615 within Clonal Complex (CC) 79, exhibiting a broad resistome containing key antimicrobial resistance genes, including carbapenemase genes blaOXA-23 and blaOXA-65, and other resistance determinants such as blaADC-25, aadA1, floR, sul2, and dfrA1.
ConclusionThese findings provide valuable data about the resistance profile of strain AB025 and may contribute to research aimed at developing more effective antibiotics and treatment strategies.
