<p><i>Angiopoietin-like 7 (ANGPTL7)</i> is a member of the angiopoietin-like protein family, which plays critical physiological roles in angiogenesis, tissue homeostasis maintenance, inflammatory signaling, glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism. Meanwhile, <i>ANGPTL7</i> is also implicated in the regulation of numerous pathological processes and disease development. In recent years, several studies have demonstrated that <i>ANGPTL7</i> is differentially expressed in various types of tumors and it may regulate tumourigenesis, tumor angiogenesis, invasion, and metastasis through diverse mechanisms. Additionally, <i>ANGPTL7</i> has been implicated in the diagnosis and prognosis of tumor patients, suggesting its potential as a novel biomarker for tumor prediction. In this review, we provide a comprehensive overview of the structure and function of <i>ANGPTL7</i>, as well as its role and underlying mechanisms in tumor development. Furthermore, we discuss potential future research directions and clinical applications of <i>ANGPTL7</i> in oncology.</p>
