摘要

To investigate whether epigenetic factors are candidate for premature coronary artery disease (CAD) and associated with subclinical atherosclerosis, this survey was performed. According to current preventive recommendations there is association between endothelial dysfunction, local sheer stress, epigenetic alteration, and severity of CAD. Data suggest a predictive role of epigenetic changes in subclinical atherosclerosis and as independent factors in endothelial dysfunction and CAD. Epigenetic alteration is associated with endothelial dysfunction and apoptosis and is a risk factor for atherosclerosis. Here, alterations in the epigenetic factors histone deacetylase(HDAC)3/HDAC7 and DNA methyltransferase (DNMT)3 A/DNMT3B and increased levels of microRNAs (miRNAs) are proposed as potential predictors of endothelial dysfunction and the presence of subclinical atherosclerosis.
