Compatibility analysis of hydrazinium bis-tetrazolyl triazenate (HBTT) with various single-compound explosives
摘要
As a new generation of nitrogen rich ionic compounds, hydrazinium bis-tetrazolyl triazenate (HBTT) broads application prospects in military weapons and equipment, propellants, and warhead charges. Two or more elemental explosives are usually used to further unleash the chemical potential of energetic materials. Prior to this, testing the compatibility of HBTT with these elemental explosives was conducted to evaluate its safety, which is of great significance for further application. The compatibility of HBTT with these explosives were evaluated using DSC method, vacuum stability testing (VST) method, Thermogravimetric Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (TG-FTIR), and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The results showed that the compatibility levels between HBTT/RDX and HBTT/HMX were 1 and 2, respectively, thus the results of VST method also demonstrated good compatibility; The compatibility levels between HBTT/CL-20 and HBTT/TKX-50 were both level 4, indicating the worst compatibility. Finally, this study provides reference for the formulation design of HBTT based composite materials and paves the way for the engineering application of nitrogen rich ionic salts.
