<p>This research examines the research conducted in oil-based nanofluid viscosity from 2008 to 2023. Using the Scopus database, 224 scientific documents have been reviewed in this field. This research aims to achieve goals such as providing a comprehensive perspective for active researchers, outlining a clear path for the future of this field, and facilitating a deeper understanding of research and scientific developments in this area. The results of this article include a review of document publication trends, the most active subject fields, top authors, active countries, international cooperation, the most active publications, highly cited documents, and frequently used keywords. This information can help researchers and enthusiasts in this field gain a better understanding of the research done and the scientific progress in the field of oil-based nanofluid viscosity. The results of this article show that the highest number of published documents was in 2022 and the fields of Engineering, Physics and Astronomy and Materials Science have the highest number of documents. Additionally, the top authors in this field are Hemmat Esfe, M., Aberoumand, S., and Asadi, A., who are ranked at the top in terms of published papers. The countries of India, China, and Iran are in the best positions in terms of document publication and citation. Additionally, cooperation between countries reveals that the most significant collaboration between two different continents is between India and the USA. According to these results, this research can provide researchers and those interested in oil-based nanofluid viscosity with a better understanding of the research conducted and the process of scientific progress in this field.</p>
