Research on the preparation of gel foam material and the performance of preventing and controlling coal spontaneous combustion
摘要
In response to spontaneous coal combustion during coal mining caused by wind leakage in goaf, a gel foam fire extinguishing material was developed using a combination of Xanthan gum, Hydroxypropyl guar gum, Sodium dodecyl sulfate, and Sodium lauryl polyoxyethylene ether sulfate. In this paper, a single-factor experimental method was used to derive the optimal ratio and mass fraction of gel foam and characterized its microstructure. Both the leakage wind test and temperature-programmed experiment were conducted to investigate the gel foam's leakage wind characteristics and flame retardant properties. The results revealed that when the mass fraction of surfactant was 1%, the mass fraction of gelling agent was 0.6%, and the mass fraction of cross-linking agent was 0.5%, the foam half-life of gel foam was as long as 260 h, the distribution of bubbles was uniform, the continuity was good, and the bubbles were most stable. At the same time, the gel foam can form a gel film to block the air leakage channel, block the coal–oxygen contact, inhibit the coal oxidation and warming, inert coal body, and control the spontaneous combustion of coal.
