<p>This systematic review, carried out under the PRISMA 2020 protocol, examines the physical principles, calibration approaches and dosimetric frameworks that underpin the use of LR-115 type II passive nuclear track detectors for indoor radon-222 and thoron-220 measurement. Out of 847 records retrieved from five bibliographic databases and complementary institutional sources, 62 publications were included in the final synthesis. Twin-chamber configurations, etching kinetics, reported calibration factors and the UNSCEAR and ICRP dose conversion coefficients are critically compared. Twin-cup LR-115 dosimeters paired with traceable calibration emerge as a sound compromise between cost, sensitivity and radon/thoron discrimination for large residential surveys.</p>
