<p>The determination of <sup>210</sup>Po in biological samples (BS) is important to protect people’s health. However, the temperature and conditions at which <sup>210</sup>Po compounds, which are of unknown composition, are volatile are not clear nor well understood, making its determination challenging. In this study, the volatility of <sup>210</sup>Po in BS was studied by digesting, dehydrating, heating, and fusing food and vegetation samples for various durations and temperatures. It was discovered that <sup>210</sup>Po volatility was not a function of the heating temperature nor the heating duration, but rather a function of the decomposition rate of the BS during the combustion process.</p>
