κ-Carrageenan/diatomite hydrogel composites for efficient Sr(II) adsorption from aqueous solutions
摘要
Diatomite-loaded κ-carrageenan hydrogel composites were synthesized for Sr(II) removal from aqueous solutions. The composite containing 0.75 g diatomite (KD-75) showed the highest adsorption efficiency. XRD, FT-IR, SEM–EDX, and XPS analyses confirmed composite formation and indicated that Sr(II) uptake occurs mainly via ion exchange and electrostatic interactions. Equilibrium data were well described by the nonlinear Freundlich model for diatomite and KD-75. Kinetic data for KD-75 followed the pseudo-second-order model. Effective regeneration using HCl highlights the composite’s potential for radioactive waste treatment.
