Modification of dynamic sorption of radionuclides (cesium and strontium) using clinoptilolite and composite zeolite-based sorbents
摘要
The increase in the volume of liquid radioactive waste is intensifying the search for effective sorbents to remove radionuclides. Sorption of radionuclides by zeolites consists of two separate stages—rapid and slow. The rapid stage corresponds to the first 40 sorption cycles, during which a pronounced increase in sorption capacity is observed. A modified dynamic sorption approach has been implemented, consisting of stepwise purification of the solution using a system of sequentially connected sorption columns. The experiment showed that the composite sorbent ClSZ_3 sorbs 88.2% of cesium and 83.2% of strontium. Clinoptilolite showed high cesium sorption and low strontium sorption.
