<p>This study utilized <i>k</i><sub><i>0</i></sub>-standardized cyclic neutron activation analysis (<i>k</i><sub><i>0</i></sub><i>-CNAA</i>) to assess heavy metals in well water from Thu Dau Mot ward (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam). Results indicated that while most elements (As, Cr, Cu, Hg, Se, Zn) were below Vietnamese national limits, iron (Fe) concentrations in several samples exceeded these thresholds, revealing localized Fe pollution. One outlier sample showed anomalously high concentrations of Fe, Mn, Na, and Cl, suggesting potential impacts from saltwater intrusion or a specific pollution source. The <i>k</i><sub><i>0</i></sub><i>-CNAA</i> method was effective for quantifying elements like Fe and Mn but lacked the required sensitivity for regulatory monitoring of ultra-trace toxic elements like As and Hg.</p>
