<p>This investigation evaluated natural gamma radiation to track sediment movement at two distinct sites within a Brazilian uranium mine undergoing decommissioning. Between 2023 and 2025, fieldwork was executed through four seasonal campaigns using portable gamma spectrometry. Data processing involved R programming, Excel, and GIS to generate interpolation maps and gamma count rate-weighted centroid maps. Contrary to the initial hypothesis that prevailing winds would shift sediments, the weighted radiation centroids showed minimal and inconsistent movement. The results strongly suggest that wind has a limited influence, while other environmental factors, such as precipitation and local geomorphology, may play a more significant role.</p>
