Soft error risk assessment in carbon ion radiation therapy for prostate cancer
摘要
We performed a risk assessment of soft errors in cardiac implantable electronic devices in carbon ion radiation therapy (CIRT) for prostate cancer treatment by conducting Monte Carlo simulations based on computed tomography images. Input files were generated using RT-PHITS. The risk of soft errors varied depending on irradiation conditions, particularly beam energy and irradiation direction. The estimated number of soft errors was 2.0. Therefore, the risk of soft errors attributable to CIRT for prostate cancer treatment is considered acceptable.
