<p>The radon (Rn-222) activity in tap water from the public water supplies in Montenegro has been analyzed for the first time, together with well water from the Central region. A maximum Rn-222 concentration was below 10&#xa0;Bq L<sup>−1</sup>. The population-weighted average annual effective dose from radon indoors (ingestion and inhalation) is found to be 2.48&#xa0;mSv. Excess lifetime risks for stochastic effects were assessed to indicate health risks due to exposure to indoor radon. Correlations among radon activity in indoor air and drinking water and Ra-226 activity in soil were also analyzed, to establish baselines for a further research.</p>
