摘要

The use of sulfuric acid target solutions in the production of 99Mo-based radiopharmaceuticals is suppressed by insufficient maturity of extraction technology. TiO2 based “Termoxid” sorbents were tested in this work. A moderate increase of pH value (1.3–2.0) has positive impact on extraction. A correlation was found between the molybdenum flow on the outer boundary of the sorbent granules and the surface charge. The change in electrokinetically estimated surface charge per molybdenum particle is –0.02e to –0.05e at initial stage with a consequent sharp decrease. A mechanism of anion adsorption followed by additional protonation is proposed.
