<p>The feature of environmental radioactive contamination at the STS is significant levels of surface water contamination, including <sup>238</sup>U. As a result of the work, data was obtained on <sup>238</sup>U speciation in the water bodies of the “Degelen” site. A dissolved substance was found to be the predominant speciation of <sup>238</sup>U depending on the particle size. Speciation by the oxidation rate in the water of adit 503 and 504, over 90% of <sup>238</sup>U is + 6. In the waters of adit 609 and 104, 52% and 64% of <sup>238</sup>U is in the oxidation state of + 6, 48% and 36% to + 4.</p>
