<p>This study deals with measurements of radon concentration in the kindergartens of the mining area where high levels of radon have already been detected in dwellings. Three surveys of measurements were performed with charcoal canisters in occupied and non-occupied rooms. The findings revealed that more than 90% of measurement results were above 100&#xa0;Bq&#xa0;m<sup>−3</sup>. There is a significant difference between ground and floor radon concentrations, but no difference between types of floor coverings, nor the age of construction. Some measures were proposed to mitigate radon levels.</p>
