Relationship between the radon activity concentration and the characteristics of granite at an underground laboratory
摘要
This paper presents the distribution characteristics of radon in Beishan underground research laboratory. We determined radon concentrations in the ramp and water-conducting fracture under normal ventilation conditions, and compared the radon concentration measurements with the geological and hydrogeological records. The results indicated that the radon concentration in the underground space is generally less than 300 Bq/m3, which is consistent with the determination of low radionuclide content in granite. The fracture dense zones and water-conducting fractures of ramp are the potential risk areas of high concentration radon distribution in the ramp, and are the key factors for design radon continuous monitoring system.
