摘要

The present study discusses the hazards of airborne radionuclides pollution in Assiut City, Egypt. The total suspended particles (TSP) samples were collected from six sites selected based on anthropogenic activities. The concentrations of the detected radionuclides in TSP (43 mBq m−3 and 12 mBq m−3 for 238U series and 232Th series, respectively) were higher than the world average values. The annual effective doses (by inhalation) are 100 times the world average dose of airborne radionuclides. The findings from the present study are regarded as a baseline level and may be applied to future assessments of radiation exposure levels in the area.
