<p>This study was conducted to determine the impact of a religious leader educator training program in combating substance abuse on creating awareness and self-efficacy among Imams and Quran course instructors in the fight against substance abuse. This study was conducted in accordance with the principles of non-randomized pretest–posttest control group design. The Religious Leader Educator Training Program in Combating Substance Abuse was carried out in 3&#xa0;weeks in a total of 10 sessions, each lasting 40–45&#xa0;min. The data collection tools included a Personal Information Form, the Substance Addiction Awareness Scale, the Self-Efficacy Scale in Substance Addiction Prevention, and Substance Addiction Knowledge Test. An increase was observed in the post-test mean scores of the Self-Efficacy for Protecting from Substance Abuse Scale, Substance Addiction Awareness Scale, and Substance Addiction Knowledge test in the intervention group compared to their pretest mean scores, and the intra-group difference was statistically significant (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.05). The training program on substance addiction prevention raised the awareness of the participants and increased their self-efficacy and knowledge levels. It is recommended that this training be given to all religious leaders.</p>
