Do REBT Therapists Agree with Ellis’ Hypothesis on the Centrality of Demandingness?
摘要
Three Hundred Twenty-five trained REBT therapists completed a survey assessing their attitudes about REBT theory and practice. Included were questions concerning beliefs about various methods of disputation, different distinctive features of REBT, attitudes about how to proceed given various hypothetical case vignettes, and attitudes about the different irrational beliefs and their role in client disturbance, including attitudes about Ellis’ assertion that demandingness is central to client disturbance. Most of the sample was in agreement with Ellis and his centrality of demandigness assumption.
