Magnetite/MXene Nanocomposites: Photocatalytic and Adsorption Applications in Water Treatment for Environmental Remediation

The increasing dominance of pollutants in the worldwide demands to explore the development on the advanced and eco-friendly remediation technologies. This review investigates the emerging role of magnetite-based MXene (Fe3O4/Ti3C2) nanocomposites as the suitable materials for photocatalysis, adsorption in water treatment and environmental remediation. Studies show that these nanocomposites exhibit good adsorption capacities and photocatalytic degradation performance, supported by detailed physicochemical characterizations and optimization of parameters. This review elaborates the synthesis methods, structure-property-performance relationships, and diverse environmental applications of magnetite-based MXene composites, highlighting their significant potential to advance sustainable technologies for environmental remediation.
