<p>Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have garnered significant interest because of their remarkably highly adjustable porous structure, and the polymers are well known for their high processability and flexibility. The integration of these two materials results in the formation of polymer-metal organic frameworks (polymer-MOFs), which exhibit improved characteristics and create a new avenue for innovative applications. The review focuses on notable advancements in polymer-metal organic frameworks (polymer-MOFs) synthesis, emphasizing progressive approaches including in-situ polymerization and post-synthetic modifications. Unique features of the polymer-metal organic frameworks (polymer-MOFs) such as high processibility, chemical, thermal versatility, and mechanical stability are discussed here. The review highlights polymer-metal organic frameworks (polymer-MOFs) in drug delivery and biomedical applications, gas storage and separation, catalysis, and environmental remediation by accentuating their ingenious applications. Developing advanced composite materials and using functional polymers are the future directions that lead to potential breakthroughs. Ultimately, the review discusses the evolving potential of polymer-metal organic frameworks (polymer-MOFs), bridging innovations in synthesis, distinctive features, and their growing role in addressing contemporary industrial and environmental challenges.</p> Graphical Abstract <p></p>
