Investigation of Structural, Optical, Morphological and Compositional Properties of Agglomerated CuMn2O4 Nanoparticles for In Vitro Anticancer Activity Against MCF-7 Cell Lines
摘要
Binary metal oxide nanoparticles have gained significant attention in biomedical applications due to their unique physiochemical properties, biocompatibility, and versatility. Their multifunctional nature allows for enhanced therapeutic and diagnostic capabilities, making them promising tools in modern medicine. In this study, we developed an eco-friendly, cost-effective synthesis of copper manganese nanoparticles (CuMn2O4 NPs) using Citrus limon leaf extract as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent. Various spectral and microscopic characterization methods were used to confirm the structural, optical, and chemical properties of the synthesized NPs. Additionally, the morphological analysis revealed the presence of agglomerated nanoparticles, indicating a tendency for particle clustering. Our biological evaluations revealed that CuMn2O4 NPs exhibit significant anticancer activity against MCF-7 human breast cancer cells by effectively inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis. Notably, cytotoxicity studies on L929 normal fibroblast cells revealed significantly lower toxicity, highlighting the selective and biocompatibility of the synthesized NPs. These findings underscore the promise of green synthesized CuMn2O4 NPs as sustainable nanotherapeutics, providing an eco-friendly and potent alternative for advanced cancer treatment.
