Synergic Effects on Novel Zn/Mn MOFs for Establishing Effective Pesticide Adsorption, Drug Encapsulation and Cytotoxicity Studies
摘要
An efficient adsorption, drug loading, electrochemical properties, anti-oxidant analysis of Zn/Mn bimetallic metal–organic frameworks were synthesized using trimesic acid and terephthalic acid as the organic linkers. Synthesized Zn/Mn-TPA and Zn/Mn-TA MOFs analyzed for optical and structural characteristic properties by UV–Vis, FT-IR, XRD, FESEM-EDAX, DLS and BET studies etc. From the study it concluded that highest wavelength of Zn/Mn-TPA and Zn/Mn-TA MOFs revealed to be 238 and 222 nm respectively while the corresponding band gap values found to be 3.29 and 3.2 eV. The XRD analysis showed that the crystallite size was found to be 18.77 and 18.27 nm respectively. Based on the FE-SEM analysis, the spherical shapes of Zn/Mn-TPA and Zn/Mn-TA were discovered and the average grain sizes of 22.17 and 14.7 nm were revealed. From DLS study, the hydrodynamic particle sizes were determined to be 117 and 278 nm and showed the negative zeta potential values. Using different parameters like effect of catalyst weight, concentration, pH and contact time, BiMOFs were employed to adsorb the agricultural pesticides such as Pendimethalin, Lambda-cyhalothrin and Chlorpyrifos. The adsorption process was primarily governed by the presence of formulation of physical and chemical interactions as evidenced by the adsorption kinetics and isotherms that fitted to the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir models respectively that involved the mass transfer and intraparticle diffusion in addition to the formation of process like adsorption onto the surface sites. The drug loading of paracetamol to Zn/Mn-TPA and Zn/Mn/TA showed the percentage (%) efficiency of 77.35 and 83.09% at 12 h and high percentage (%) inhibition of Zn/Mn-TPA and Zn/Mn-TA against DPPH was found to be 87.22 and 91.72% at the concentration of 100 µg/mL in the antioxidant study and the toxicity assessment performed using mouse fibroblast cell line (L929) respectively. The prepared Zn/Mn-TPA and Zn/Mn-TA have no significant toxicity in the concentration below 50 µg/mL effectively. From the results, Zn/Mn metal–organic frameworks have exhibited rapid adsorption, well drug loading properties and effective electrochemical properties and cell viability etc.
