<p>Creativity plays an important role in promoting individual well-being and success. Beyond the individual factors of creativity, creative activities frequently emerge in social contexts and are influenced by interpersonal factors. However, the impact of interpersonal interaction factors on creativity has been largely overlooked. Based on the self-determination theory, this study employed the daily diary approach to investigate how helping behaviors are associated with daily creative behaviors. A total of 151 college students participated in the study, completing daily surveys over a 14-day period. Residual dynamic structural equation models revealed a positive association between helping behavior and daily creativity, which was mediated by increased feelings of competence. These findings suggest that the positive effect of helping others on daily creativity can be explained by the increased sense of competence. These findings enrich the understanding of the interpersonal factors influencing creativity, elucidating the important role of intrapersonal and interpersonal processes in facilitating creative behaviors.</p>
