Revival of vernacular architecture values for rural tourism development
摘要
Villages with historical and indigenous textures are widely regarded as areas with high potential for tourism development. Owing to their rich natural, cultural, and historical attractions, these villages have increasingly attracted urban visitors and receive large numbers of tourists each year. However, inadequate planning, insufficient attention by authorities and local residents to existing capacities, and the influx of migrants into tourist-destination villages have, in some cases, resulted in numerous physical constraints. In this context, identifying the physical factors and criteria that contribute to tourism development in such villages is essential. The present study is exploratory in nature and employs a correlational survey design for data analysis. The statistical population consists of tourism experts, who were surveyed using a researcher-designed questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software through exploratory factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and regression analysis. The findings indicate that the proposed confirmatory factor model of rural physical texture factors influencing tourism development demonstrates a high level of acceptability and goodness of fit. The results further show that 94.5% of the variance in tourism development is explained by physical texture factors, including spatial organization and permeability, physical quality, vernacular construction patterns, environmental elements and natural landscapes, historical buildings and archaeological sites, decorative elements and architectural style, as well as lighting and flexibility. Among these, physical quality and spatial organization and permeability exert the greatest influence on rural tourism development, with impact coefficients of 0.307 and 0.268, respectively.
