Emerging Trends in Chemosensor Technologies for Zn²⁺: Fluorescence and Colorimetric Approaches
摘要
Zinc ions (Zn²⁺) are essential to a wide range of biological, environmental, and industrial functions, creating a strong demand for detection techniques that are both highly sensitive and selective. In recent years, there has been notable progress in the development of fluorescent and colorimetric chemosensors specifically designed for Zn²⁺ detection. These sensor systems offer several key advantages, including fast response times, ease of visual observation, excellent selectivity, and low detection thresholds, making them well-suited for real-time analytical applications. This review explores the latest trends in Zn²⁺ sensing, focusing on innovative molecular architectures, dual-mode detection strategies, and advancements aimed at enhancing sensor performance from the year of 2014 to 2024. Special attention is given to the structural elements that influence Zn²⁺ recognition, the underlying signal transduction mechanisms, and the application of these sensors in fields such as bioimaging, environmental analysis, and portable diagnostic devices. The article also addresses existing challenges and outlines future research directions, emphasizing the potential of advanced materials and supramolecular chemistry to drive the next generation of high-performance Zn²⁺ chemosensors.
