Applications of Multicolor Light-Emitting Devices Fabricated Using Tricolor Plastic Scintillators in LED Lighting, X-ray Detection, and Imaging
摘要
Plastic scintillators made of rare-earth complexs and organic scintillators are widely applied in radiation detection, environmental protection, nuclear medicine and industrial applications. Here, we fabricate the multicolor light-emitting devices by precisely controlling the composition and ratio of three scintillating materials doped into PMMA films using rare-earth complexes and organic compounds as dopants. Notably, the dose detection limits for the ‘R’ and ‘RB’ scintillating films are measured to be 2.22 µGy/s, which is significantly lower than the 5.5 µGy/s dose rate required for X-ray diagnostic applications. Although these scintillating films demonstrate relatively lower resolution in X-ray imaging, they remain effective for imaging millimeter-scale objects. The multicolor light-emitting devices developed by using trichromatic plastic scintillators show promising potential for applications in LED lighting, X-ray detection, and imaging systems.
