A Comprehensive Review on Recent Advances of Remarkable Scaffold Triazole based Schiff Base: Synthesis and Photoresponsive Chemosensors for Al3+ Ion Detection

Triazole Schiff base as fluorescent chemosensor and fluorogenic cation sensor is crucial for the detection of metal ions. The diverse structures of triazole Schiff bases have raised concerns. Excellent luminous properties are produced by mixing donor and acceptor groups with delocalized π-orbitals due to the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) mechanism. For Al3+ metal ions, this work provides data on the triazole Schiff base, design, synthesis, and sensing mechanism (ON/OFF, OFF/ON, and ON–OFF-OFF) of these sensors, as well as their potential uses. We also examined how the sensor's photophysical characteristics alter when it coordinates with the metal ions, leading to modifications in its usual sensing behaviour, such as a shift from hypsochromic/bathochromic or hypochromic/hyperchromic. Researchers will use this review as a starting point to investigate triazole Schiff base-based sensors further.
