<p>The relation of the point and interval analyses is analyzed. Algebraic features of the intervals and the properties of arithmetical operations, including the value of reverse operations, are discussed. Differences in equal and equivalent intervals are considered. Focus is placed on the low competitiveness of the interval analysis, which follows from the drawbacks of the standard.</p>
