<p>In the present study, results are reported on homogeneous hydrolysis of aqueous-alkaline solutions of sodium borohydride NaBH<sub>4</sub> which is an advanced material for storage and production of hydrogen. The reaction was carried out at 60°C in the range of molal concentrations of the alkali 0.1–4 M NaOH. It has been shown that in processing the kinetic data of the process of hydrolysis of the aqueous-alkaline NaBH<sub>4</sub> solutions, it is required that account be taken of the fact that the degree of hydrolysis is larger than that calculated from the liberation of hydrogen. Within the framework of the proposed model of hydration of ions, a two-channel kinetic model of homogeneous hydrolysis of the aqueous-alkaline solutions has been formulated.</p>
