Basic Mechanisms of Radiation Corrosion of Iron. Current State, Problems, and Prospects
摘要
Experimental and calculation-theoretical investigations on the rate of radiation corrosion of iron, the character of its manifestation, and the composition of the corrosion products in different plasma-forming gas mixtures exposed to a continuous flow of fast electrons have been carried out. Experimental data on the rate of corrosion of iron, depending on the percentage of oxygen and water vapor in the initial plasma-forming gas mixtures, are presented. An important role of molecular nitrogen in the radiation corrosion of iron is demonstrated. The concentration of charged particles in a plasmachemical reactor was numerically calculated depending on the composition of the gas medium and the intensity of the ionizing radiation. The mechanism of radiation plasmachemical corrosion of iron is described in a modern conception, existing unresolved problems are indicated, and prospects for their solution are discussed.
