<p>Aspects of the synthesis of polymeric materials from the polyimide group are considered for the development of membranes intended for the separation of hydrogen from process gas mixtures. A polyetherimide of copolymer structure was created, and its gas transport and separation characteristics were measured. The obtained results demonstrate that the gas transport characteristics correspond to those established for material samples widely used in the global production of gas separation membranes.</p>
